The Knights of The Round Table
sculptural object, 2018
insects taxidermy, wood, linoleum
diameter of table 19 cm
Arthurian legend is referenced in this humorous display of insects at a round table. A symbol of equality in political discussion, the
iconography of the round table has far reaching implications in the history of Western social development. While making reference to the feudal society in which Arthurian legend stems from, it also highlights the change in the human condition from feudal to post-industrial society. Despite these changes in the realm of the human, the realm and system of the insect has remained unchanged
while in parallel. Yet, this harmonious discourse is threatened by the external human change.
